Octavian
Belu and Mariana
Bitang, guests
of the best* Romanian TV show
* as considered by the Romanian Television
Authority "CNA", which have announced few days ago
that this program will receive a special Prize from this authority.
We may consider the Prize being a reward for the quality of
show or the obeying attitude, favoring the ruling party-psd-
and his supporters-or both. Trying desperate to go up few
points before late November elections, the actual Bucharest
regime have tried hard past few weeks to push Belu enter politics
on their side-Belu denied, now they pretend and push him,
at least to become the President of the Romanian Olympic Comiteee-which
is connected to Government activity and this can bring some
more favorable attitude from Romanian people to a insolvent
regime. They have used Nadia too, to back up their Bucharest
mayor candidate(of the ruling party) in June local elections-but
that candidate failed to win.
[oct 10] Romanian Antena1 TV station-the second biggest Romanian
TV station, after the free, public one- have aired Saturday
afternoon, after a week of TV advertisements, their weekly
program called "My Romania"( "Romania Mea").
The
program is hosted by a famous (and disputed for his "sweet
reportages"-favoring the ruling party and kiss-in-the
ass attitude with the Bucharest regime) journalist, Emil Hurezeanu
(former US sponsored-Radio Free Europe journalist, until the
closure of the radio station).
Antena 1 TV station has become a very "friendly"station for
the Bucharest regime, after the agreement between the political
party of the station owner -Voiculesu and his leftist P.U.R.
Party, called often by Bucharest (latest) independent newspaper
"Evenimentul Zilei" as "the TV party" (because his
large coverage on the owner TV station, rather that a real
political life).
The
show "My Romania", consist mainly from a walk on the streets
of the reporter and his guest, mainly in Bucharest, the show
host Hurezeanu asking different question to his guest.
This
time, the reporter have had two guests instead of one, Octavian
Belu and Mariana
Bitang, and also another exception has
been made, the guests (Belu and Bitang) having just a short
walk with the host, around Deva Gymnastics School (instead
of city streets) and visiting the Deva Olympic team hotel.
In the text scrolling boxes printed on the screen during the
show, first surprise: they had a mention about Belu
status, admitting (for the first time-as a first hand info
rather than tabloids speculations, in Romania as far as we
know) that he is divorced.
Octavian
Belu: "I have spent at Deva 24 years
and a half"; "local people are very nice, I like that they
keep their promises". "Deva gymnastics school have benefited
from being isolate:we could focus more on our work, we were
closer to local community leaders and our day-to day problem's
were solved much easier and faster" (than in a big city).
During
the show, Octavian
Belu and Mariana
Bitang took a walk with the reporter
around the buildings of Deva Gymnastics School . Children
were playing on the school sport arena.
The reporter said to Belu that those little girls looked at
him with respect and admiration. Belu: " Silivas is a 'product'
of local Deva gymnastics school. Many girls came here and
few of them finally will succeed."
On
the background, a small hill dominate Deva city.
The images shows a Holyywod-alike , huge mark of the city
name, mounted behind the hill top.
The
"team" (Belu, Bitang and reporter) goes into the buildings
which host the girls mini hotel. Octavian
Belu explain that back in 1980-1985,
girls from the Olympic team use to live in same building with
the girls from the local gym school. Later, another building
was ready for them exclusively.
Octavian
Belu jokes about it, saying it consider
the building as a single-people hotel, ones which were plenty
build in former communist Romania (almost near factory have
had one, to accommodate workers; single rooms apartment, by
single meaning one small room to live in for years, with one
bath on each floor).
The
Deva-complex building, where the Olympic team live is far
better, with air-conditioned in the rooms and spacious bathrooms
for each small apartment. At the entrance, a shoes-support
with many levels, for leaving the shoes when outside is rain
season (all corridors are carpeted).
